HUBLI: "It's not suicide but appears to be murder. We'll wait for the postmortem report and then decide what to do next," said Hanumantsa Habib, cousin brother of Deepak Habib, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of an apartment in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Soon after that, Deepak's three brothers and I rushed to Hyderabad, and along with police, visited his house. We found blood spots near the bathroom, and other places and his things were strewn all over."
He added, "If he wanted to commit suicide, he'd have done it in his room. Moreover, he was a strong-willed person and very open. It's difficult to believe he ended his life. We've approached legal experts for advice. Police and hospital officials said the report about the cause of death will reach us in another four or five days."
His wife is pregnant and on doctors' advice, we haven't yet told her about the death, he added.
Deepak's cousin Hanumantsa said, "On Saturday, Deepak spoke to his brothers and wished his wife on her birthday on Sunday. He also invited his brothers and their families to Hyderabad. He said he would come home for the New Year celebrations."
Amrut Habib, Deepak's younger brother, "I'm sure it's not suicide. He was very independent. We're five brothers and Deepak was the second one. He was only highly educated person in our family and the other four brothers manage our two jewellery shops. It's hardly 15 days ago that Deepak joined Infosys. Earlier, he was a software engineer with L&T for over six years in Bangalore.
He got married around three years ago. They stayed in Bangalore and after his wife became pregnant, he sent his wife to Hubli for extra care.
